Experimental study of moment redistribution before yielding in precast prestressed concrete beams made continuous

چکیده
The bending stiffness distribution of beams composed simple-span precast prestressed beams, which are made continuous by deck reinforcement at intermediate supports, is not constant. As the structure undergoes loading, slab support cracks earlier than span soffit and due to that changes along beam length. effect nonconstant on moment redistribution before yielding studied experimentally analytically. Two with spans 10 m + were manufactured, loaded failure, studied. It was concluded considerable although it would be designed for zero ultimate limit state. If this elastic neglected in structural analysis, service state sagging midspan may end up unconservative side. Elastic can predicted quite accurately help nonlinear analysis or roughly simplified idealization as proposed article.

Nonlinear Damping Identification in Precast Prestressed Reinforced Concrete Beams
This article presents a damage detection method for prestressed reinforced concrete (PRC) elements based on free vibration tests and nonlinear damping identification. Integrated static and dynamic experiments were carried out on three precast PRC beam specimens. The static loading induced different levels of damage to the beams. At each damage level, impulsive loading was applied to the beams a...
متن کاملAdvantages of Large Strands in Precast/Prestressed Concrete Highway Application
The objective of this research is to investigate the advantages of using large-diameter 0.7 inch prestressing strands in pretention applications. The advantages of large-diameter strands are mainly beneficial in the heavy construction applications. Bridges and tunnels are subjected to a higher daily traffic with an exponential increase in trucks ultimate weight, which raise the demand for highe...
متن کاملOptimization of Precast Prestressed Concrete Bridge Girder Systems
60 A practical approach to the optimal design of precast, prestressed concrete highway bridge girder systems is presented. The approach aims at standardizing the optimal design of bridge systems, as opposed to standardizing girder sections. Structural system optimization is shown to be more relevant than conventional girder optimization for an arbitrarily chosen structural system. Bridge system...
متن کاملHeuristic optimization of prestressed concrete precast pedestrian bridges
This paper deals with the economic optimization of prestressed concrete precast pedestrian bridges typically used in public works construction. These bridges are made of a precast concrete beam that integrates an upper reinforced concrete slab for the pedestrian traffic. The beam has a U-shape cross-section. Typical span lengths range from 20 to 40 m and the width ranges from 3.00 to 6.00 m. Th...
